Welcome to Kingsburg High School,
My name is Ivan Nuñez, and I have the honor of serving as Principal of Kingsburg High School, a place rooted in tradition, excellence, accomplishment, and community pride. My commitment to the youth of Kingsburg began nineteen years ago when I started my educational journey here as a Spanish and AVID teacher. I also had the privilege of leading our men’s soccer program for many years. During my time as a teacher at KHS, surrounded by exceptional students and colleagues, I came to deeply value collaboration, safety, goal setting, empathy, and student success. These principles reflect Kingsburg High School’s ongoing dedication to students, families, the community, and our staff. As your principal, I remain committed to these values to ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and challenged.
At Kingsburg High School, we believe that education is the foundation society uses to prepare its citizens to be productive, valued, and cooperative members of the community. Our mission is to instill the attitudes, values, knowledge, and skills that empower students to become positive influences in the global society. As both a Kingsburg community member and Principal of KHS, I am proud to be guided by a mission developed collaboratively by current and past administrators, educators, students, and community members. At the heart of our work is the goal of preparing young men and women to be engaged, responsible citizens with strong values and a commitment to serving others.
My goal is to continue making Kingsburg High School a beacon for our students, staff, and community, a place where every individual finds a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to grow both academically and as a responsible citizen. Currently, approximately 400 students are enrolled in honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, preparing for college and university pathways. In addition, over 640 students are participating in a variety of ROP-CTE and career-building courses, including programs in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Manufacturing, Wildland Firefighting, and Graphic Design. This balanced approach between rigorous academic offerings and hands-on career preparation ensures our students are well-equipped to pursue their goals and aspirations with confidence.
I want to reaffirm that strong partnerships with parents are incredibly important to me. At KHS, we are a vibrant and active campus, with students involved in the arts, music, athletics, FFA, clubs, ASB, and Academic Decathlon. Parents, I warmly invite you to attend and support your student at these events, your involvement is truly appreciated and makes a difference.
To our students: your voice matters. Kingsburg High School is, and will continue to be, a meaningful part of your story. I am here to help make that story memorable and full of opportunity, because your future begins right here at Kingsburg High School. Always remember, you are the ones who uphold the Green and Gold Standard of greatness.
Once a Viking, Always a Viking.
Sincerely,
Ivan Nuñez
